Sub Committees and Representation
The UKTCA has a permanent Education
Sub Committee and has representation on a number of advisory groups,
associations and other professional bodies; this wide representation
ensures the opinions and interests of the members are reflected in
appropriate forums. If you would like to know more about the
associations and groups noted, please contact the secretariat who
will forward your mail to the appropriate member.
The UKTCA also
run the training course for all UK Donor Transplant Coordinators
(DTC); modules I and II of this course is accredited by the
University of Central England. Completion of the UKTCA modules is
recognized as a requirement of the national DTC job description and
competencies. The UKTCA has recently introduced an advanced module
for established DTC’s; this module is targeted towards coordinators
with 3 or more years experience and aims to introduce aspects of
advanced donor care alongside project management and strategy
development.
